I’ve been meaning to start getting some of these up here for a while. If you are not familiar with The Brilliance, you need to be. They are fronted by David Gungor (the brother of Michael) and they are writing incredible music for the church. They are also opening for Gungor on their upcoming tour.
I’ve charted quite a few of their songs, and since I’m doing Open Up tomorrow I thought I’d get it uploaded to share. It is neither exact nor perfect, so if you have any questions or corrections, let me know.

Good stuff! I had charted the song out last week with the hopes of doing it some day in the future. I had a few chords a little differently spelled out but, eh, just semantics.
Since randomly stumbling upon The Brilliance (I was searching for Christ is Risen by Matt Maher) I have fallen in love with this CD (I was already a Gungor fan but hadn’t heard of the Brilliance), it’s incredible! My current project is writing out the songs in sheet music (including the string quartet parts) but it’s VERY slow going since I have little experience in it and I’m just trying to do it by ear.
Just wanted to comment and say your chart looks great and sharing the love of the brilliance!

@ Alex V: Yeah, I am really enamored with the stuff they are doing. I typically have a small team (piano, guitar, sometimes bass, and vocals), so I try and fill in the sonics in different ways. I would love to see what you come up with in your sheet music.
Thanks for posting this. I’ve been looking for charts or scores of the Brilliance’s music for a while now. Do you have any other’s that you can share? I’ve been looking specifically for “Our God Alone,” “Wounded Healer,” “Christ is Risen,” and “May the Lord”.
@ philip: I do have charts for Our God Alone and Wounded Healer. I will try to upload them this week. I introduced Wounded Healer last Lent. I did it at the end of Palm Sunday and again on Good Friday. Then I brought in the ‘original’ version David did with Curt Coffield called “High and Lifted Up” (same song with the verses in a different order and a ‘high and lifted up’ chorus in place of the ‘hosanna’) for Ascension Sunday. I have not done Christ Is Risen or May the Lord yet. I have charted Breathe and Mother of God as well. Charting Hands and Feet for this Sunday.
Hey man, appreciate the song, Ive been very encouraged by the Brilliance. Would you mind sharing your chords for Our God Alone and Christ is Risen?
I’ve been searching all over for “Breathe” charts. I came across your blog and this thread. If you were able to share that would be excellent. Do you have the strings transcribed?
would love to see more of the charts you have…their music is amazing
Hi there,
Do you have your chart of Our God Alone that you could maybe send me for my church?
Thanks!
I see there were other songs mentioned in the previous conversation. Are there other chord charts that might be finished? I’d love to take a look at what you have done so I could use them at my church too.
I would love to see more of the charts too. Did you ever locate them?
Hey victor,
We’re using ‘hands & feet’ & ‘dust we are & shall return’ these guys & would love you to share any chord charts you have for this to aid in speeding up the time we would have in working them out,
Thanks
Ben
Holy smokes! I haven’t tended to my blog in some time, and I am so sorry!
I do have ‘hands & feet’ but not ‘dust we are…’
I will find the easiest way to share them tomorrow.
